SiO2-based ceramic coatings utilise the long-lasting and extreme protective qualities of silicon dioxide, more commonly known as silica or quartz. This natural compound makes up the main ingredient in glass itself and chemically bonds on a molecular level to become an integral part of the top layer of vehicle surfaces. The result is a tough, tight-knit barrier of SiO2 molecules that’s impermeable to moisture, particulate grime and sticky contamination. By creating a perfectly smooth surface that contamination cannot cling on to, water and grime will slide off easily or simply sit on top of the ceramic layer, far away from the most sensitive, scratchable surfaces. This not only aids future maintenance with the most advanced easy-clean properties but, due to the fact that the chemically bonded SiO2 layer is extremely difficult to remove during day-to-day driving, offers the most durable protection and long-lasting performance.
